Mission Statement

The mission of the Ahupua` a o Moloka`i is to help improve the health, welfare, and safety of the Moloka`i homesteaders.

History

In 1988, the late Glen Borden, the President of Ho`olehua Homestead Association, formed Ahupua` a o Moloka`i to unite the Moloka`i Homestead Associations. Today, we are still active and are members of the State Council of Hawaiian Homestead Associations, which connects Moloka`i with other Hawaiian homestead associations Statewide.

In 2002, the IRS recognized the Ahupua` a o Moloka`i as a 501-c-3 non-profit organization for the Moloka'i Hawaiian Homestead Associations. Since then we have been fortunate to become recipients of grant funds from Department of Hawaiian Home Lands and Bank of Hawai'i . Some of our grant funds are earmarked for the Ahupua`a Hale and projects that enhance each homestead community.
